Artful War?

Ok…so somebody suggested that I read this book called “The Art of War.” While I love reading very much, it is sometimes hard to read books such as this one. I remember a guy I used to date a few years ago looking for this same book. I had no clue what the book was about or what it was about. Nor did I really care. I was in search for a good, hot, steamy, drama filled novel to take me another world. *smile* I just remember him really trying to find that book so that he could read it.

I went to Borders today after the suggestion was given to me. I found the book, rather I found a gang of damn books with the same damn title. *sigh* Dammit…they failed to mention exactly which book/edition to get. Oh well….I skimmed through two of three of them and said, “Eh…and what exactly am I supposed to get out of this?” I put the books back on the shelf, gathered my belongings and out the door I went. I figured, I’d do some research on the actual book and its “elements” later. I wasn’t in the mood for that shyt right then.

Ok. So this is the point where I ask if any of you have actually read this book and if so, to shed some light on it. You know….give me a “foreward” or sorts prior to me actually reading it.

  1. I’m not giving you anything. I can’t believe you give us this piece of a post as a cover for trying to get Cliff Notes on a dayum book!

  2. I think the popular “Art of War” is by Sun Tzu.

It’s supposed to apply to any part of life when preparing for war. The first time I read it was in a campaign class in college.

I did take ideas from it for running a campaign, main idea I got and remember was building your treasure chest. You need money to run a campaign or war.

Lots of strategy for going to and winning battle.

  10. hey madam,

it is a great book to read, especially in the times we are living…. a better book to start might be The 48 Laws of Power, this will set you up for what you will read in The Art of War…..
