Bride-zilla!!!

Ok. It’s been one week exactly. I told you that I was going to tell you about the wedding experience. The more I think about it, I probably should have written/typed this shit while it was fresh in my mind. Not that I can’t remember what went down. I just don’t have that same ANGRY energy that I had initially.

*wondering how can even begin to tell my story*

Well for starters. Let me tell you about the Maid of Honor who shall be called D. I should have seen the signs when I went home for the bride’s bridal shower. D was asking me to help her out with a few things for the upcoming bridal shower. I agreed to buy the utensils, plates and stuff like that. Well, she informed me that the bride requested that certain types of plates be purchased. She wanted some damn plates that looked like real crystal plates. WTF? I told D , that I wasn’t thinking about what the damn bride wanted and quickly purchased some damn clear SOLO plates and plasticware. D actually acted like she was damn scared of the bride. Like she was scared to go against her wishes. I was thinking the whole time, “Who’s actually planning this shower? You or the bride?” Well not only did I think it, I asked her. The Maid of Honor told me that the bride instructed her what invitations to purchase, what games to play, what decorations to use…etc. Again I say, “WTF?” The bride gave D a copy of an invitation that she wanted her bridal shower invitations to look like. Without going into grave detail about the invitation thing, just know that she ended up paying 80 bucks for those damn bridal shower invitations. When she told me that, I quickley retorted, “You are a fool.” There is no way I’d pay 80 bucks for some damn bridal shower invitations. “No way. Not when I can go to the Hall.mark store and grab about two or three packs of invitations and go from there. Hell. She could have even created one on the computer like I did for the bachelorette party. But….I’ll get to that later. Out of the 40 people she invited, only 15 or so showed up. And those were mostly family members.

The cake. Now…D mentioned that she was going to purchase a nice cake for the shower. Well, the bride didn’t want the cake that D was going to purchase. She wanted a cake that was made up like a damn Essen.ce magazine with HER on the cover! While it was a cute idea….to know the bride and the type of person she is makes it eh…not so cute. Oh. Don’t get me wrong. I do realize that it’s about her. I really, really do. But even still…

The venue. D also suggested having the shower at her apartment complex’s club house. This would be the same club house that we’d have the bachelorette party at. Now, why she was conferring with the bride her plans? I don’t know. I wouldn’t have told her monkey ass shit! Anywho… the bride told D that she didn’t want to have it there. She (the bride) searched out another place of venue which happened to be an art gallery. ***sidenote*** Ever know somebody who wants so much to portray an image that they really aren’t a part of? ***end sidenote***

Anyway, back to what I was saying. She wanted to have the shower at this art gallery. Which by the way, cost more than the club house. Couldn’t have been me. Also, remember that the bride told D what games she wanted to be played. Basically, she planned her own damn bridal shower. Clearly, (X, 2005) she did not read the Bride’s responsibilites or the Maid of Honor’s responsibilities.

I don’t think it will be necessary for me to give you all the details of the wedding planning and actual wedding festivities. If I do that, this will definitely be a two parter and I’m not trying to do that. Although, you know I am capable. Now that I think about it. I may have to do just that. It is entirely too much to type in one setting. You know…if I want to give you the full story. And even in typing this, I’m not going to type out every damn detail. LOL Just too drama!

I guess I should back up a taste and give you a brief history of me and the bride’s friendship. I’ve actually been knowing the bride since we were in the 8th grade. So we definitely have a long history. Now, don’t get me wrong. Our friendship has definitely had it’s ups and downs. As any and most friendships. It just so happens that this chic has her ups and downs with a lot of her “friends.” She’s the type of person that is ALWAYS, ALWAYS right and you are ALWAYS, ALWAYS wrong. In my opinion, she attempts to put on heirs and makes it seem like she is all prim and proper. She can also be very condescending. Which is mainly why we’ve fallen out before. You’re not going to talk to me any way you want and think I’m going to be cool with it. Nope. Not going to happen. Honestly, I was surprised that she asked me to be in her wedding because we had just started talking again. She pissed me off when I was pregnant and I just stopped fucking with her. I don’t know how we started back talking again. I could go on and on about that drama but I won’t.

*scrolling back up to see what the hell I was talking about**shaking head* I don’t blame you for skimming through this muthaphucka. I’m all over the place with this one. Honestly, I want to finish typing this mug out so that I can move on to other topics. For example, this past Friday’s ATL Bloggers Drunk Fest. LOL

However, I’m going to take a muthaphuckin break and clean up around here. So much for a relaxing break. LOL My son has toys strewn all over the damn place. Why he insists on bringing every damn toy out of his room and into the living room is beyond me. Oh..not to mention that I really need to work on my resume.

  8. I know people like that who try to create an image. But to ask someone else to finance their desires is horrible. I guess she’s trying to be Nicole Ari-Parker from Brown Sugar.

That poor maid-of-honor. Poor because she’s spending money she shouldn’t have to just so bridezilla can be extra.

I didn’t realize how many people dig up bridal party members they haven’t been in close contact with. They don’t have friends.

  10. I won’t even comment on the bride at this point b/c I think I’ve said on many occasions that when friends (women) get married, they sort of lose it. They don’t think straight for shit. Which is why they’d have to drag my ass by the hair to get me to play the fool in this type fiasco. At any rate, a word to the wise on the kid bringing toys in the living room. I turned cleaning up toys into a game. Wanna hear it, hear it go. “Clean up, clean up, everybody everywhere, clean up, clean up, everybody do your share.” In your nicest nursery rhyme voice and when that doesnt’ work, I just pull out my belt. HA! Just the sight of it gets my kid in line.
